about

Who are the strangers among us?
Is every human being not a stranger at some point in their life?
Who deserves to be here and who doesn’t deserve to be?
Who are the aliens of the land?
These are fond childhood conversation I remembered having regularly with my Grandma Alima, who is by far the nicest person I have ever known.

My grandma Alima and I used to have these conversations on the way to the farm and back home. Grandma Alima reminded me and the rest of the villagers in Pulima that nature was here long before us human beings and that is why we must treat all creatures of nature with love and respect.

Grandma used to say that everyone deserves a place to be, and it does not matter where we are, we have a reason to be there. That is why we must value every life and appreciate that nature is diverse for good reasons. There are no strangers in my Grandma Alima’s welcoming world; we are all just travellers and passersby’s!

Soul Train is a song of love, hope, inner conflicts, pain and other conflicting energies and emotions that constantly battles for the attention of soul, including the sense of loss and despair. This song evokes the perfect spirit of the festive season when love and family reunion are the most essential ingredients of good and happy Christmas. Unfortunately, most people are not likely to reunite with their families for Christmas this year because of Covid 19.

The Soul Train keeps my spirit alive, elevated and happy where I am,
when I know I have to be somewhere else. It is like an imaginary transport that takes me to where I wish to be when I am somewhere else I needn’t be. It is also a song that gives temporal relief and the feeling of hope to those missing home and not able to be with their loved ones at the times of important celebrations and ceremonies such weddings and funerals especially in a year when Covid19 has disrupted the natural flow of life in so many ways!”
